‘Wavetable’ (collaboration with Turner Contemporary, SPOCK and Evan Parker)
24 February 2012
6 – 10pm Throughout the whole gallery Free
Join us for our monthly free Late Night Live event, when the gallery stays open until 10pm.
Contemporary artists display how meteorology has impacted on their work, including the world-premiere of Matt Wright’s Wavetable interactive installation.
Matt Wright is joined by some of the UKs most innovative classical, jazz and improvising musicians, including saxophone legend Evan Parker, Splinter Cell, SPOCK, and Roger Redgate. Together they will immerse you in an enthralling interactive installation, where the sound of the sea will flood into the gallery.
“Evan Parker and Matthew Wright’s intriguing collaboration edits layers of live performance into a shimmering mist of undulating and unbroken sonic textures [...] the result enthrals and soothes in equal measure.”
Mike Hobart, Financial Times, on ‘Trance Map’, the new CD from Evan Parker and Matt Wright
This event is supported by Canterbury Christ Church University.
